Sardegna Ricerche is an agency that was established by Sardinia Region in 1985 (initially operating under the name "Consorzio Ventuno").
It provides the regional government with support on research, innovation and technological development and manages the technological equipment used by the public-sector departments on the island.
The client asked us to create the official portal for the project entitled "Innovation and Enhancement of Cork".
This project aims to consolidate the worldwide reputation for quality of Sardinian cork oak and the products made from it, as well as to promote shared promotional and communication activities and the co-management of shared service infrastructures for analytical operations, research projects and technological innovation.
the solution
The portal is structured on the basis of 6 macro-sections (environment and territory, history and traditions, quality and research, companies, production, products) that encompass background information, features, in-depth analysis and content relevant to the world of cork, with a particular focus on local businesses.
The site includes news (items and RSS feeds), press cuttings from the past ten years, documents, historical videoclips, useful links and an extensive photo gallery. Visitors to the portal can access technical profiles and informative material on the companies operating in the industry, including brochures, photographs and interactive maps that use the Google Maps system.
All of the content is interlinked and can be managed by those responsible for the project via a custom-designed CMS.
Those working in the industry and any interested users can sign up for the newsletter and contribute to the Forum, which features discussions on the various aspects of cork.
